Janna Caspersen

Janna Caspersen

Janna R. Caspersen, a 2007 Hudson graduate, was granted her Doctorate of Philosophy in Geography from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville on Thursday, May 10, 2018. As part of her scholarship at the university, she taught World Regional Geography for the last three years. Janna also worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory while earning her PhD. She recently defended her dissertation on campus and presented it at the Annual Meeting of the Association of Geographers, in New Orleans. In her final month as a PhD candidate, she was honored by the Chancellor of the University of Tennessee with the Excellence in Teaching Award. Last, but not least, one of her maps was recently hung at The National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, TN. Family and friends honored Janna with a celebration of her accomplishments in Knoxville.
