Hudson Police: E-cig citations; Second Street brawl
Traffic stop yields drugs
On Friday, April 27 at midnight a St. Paul minor was arrested for possession of marijuana after an officer running radar clocked a vehicle going 61 mph on Second Street. After initiating a traffic stop, a smell of marijuana was noticed coming from the vehicle. After receiving permission to search the vehicle, a bag of marijuana was located on the floor of the passenger seat as well as a significant amount in the trunk of the vehicle. The minor told police he came to Hudson to purchase marijuana, and did so, before he was pulled over. He declined to say where he purchased it.
Tree damages car
Property damage was reported at noon on Saturday, April 21 after a tree fell on a car in a parking lot on Second Street. The car was parked facing the hillside when a tree broke off, rolled down the hill and landed on the front end of the vehicle. The tree damaged the windshield, hood and more with damage estimated at $5,000.
Three minors were issued citations for violating the city's ordinance on possession of electronic nicotine delivery systems at 10:40 p.m. Saturday, April 21 in Birkmose Park. The three juveniles were found with electronic vaporizer cigarettes.
Second Street brawl
Police responded to a fight occurring on the street at 2:20 a.m. Sunday, April 22 on Second Street. Two males who were throwing punches at each other were separated. Both men said the other was the primary aggressor. Both refused EMS evaluation, and did not want not to press charges.
