Basketball: Girls go 0-2 at Marshfield

The Raider girls basketball team couldn't hold on to a three-point halftime lead in a 67-63 loss to Marshfield before falling to Wausau West, 86-62, at the Marshfield Holiday Tournament Dec. 27-28 in Marshfield.

Hudson, now 4-7 overall, will return to Big Rivers Conference action at home against Rice Lake this Saturday, Jan. 6, at 7:15 p.m. before visiting St. Paul Highland Park Tuesday, Jan. 9.

Last Wednesday in Marshfield, the Raiders led 35-32 at the break but couldn't hang on in a 67-63 loss to the host Tigers.

Hudson turned the ball over 27 times and made just 12-of-21 free throws while Marshfield shot 57 percent (20-of-35) from the field and 27-of-42 from the free throw line.

Shayla Wallin led Hudson with 22 points in 8-of-9 shooting from the field and pulled down 10 rebounds while coming up with four steals and two blocked shots. Lexi LeFever finished with nine points and Sophia Jonas had eight while Izzy Hanson scored seven and Audrey Hatfield had six.

Thursday against Wausau West, the Warriors scored 43 points in each half on its way to an 86-62 win over the Raiders.

Ty Huber finished with 13 points, five steals and four assists in the loss and Wallin had 11 points and eight rebounds while LeFever scored 10. Hatfield contributed eight points off the bench while Kaiya Sundeen had seven.
